INKTOBER 2019: THE 90S
El tema de este año será una "época" en vez de un "autor" como en las pasadas ediciones (Kirby, Ditko)
El asunto común será la gloriosa era de LOS 90 EN LOS COMICS AMERICANOS MAINSTREAM. Bienvenidos a una época de anatomías imposibles, pistolones, actitudes de malote... El grim & gritty... Una época extrema.
A lo mejor suena idiota pero fue un momento importante para mí porque fue cuando volví a leer tebeos americanos después de años leyendo sólo manga, gracias a Image comics, la serie de animación de los Xmen y el arte de Joe Madureira. Seguramente no era el mejor momento para un recién llegado... Pero podemos encontrar cosas interesantes ahí e intentaré re-imaginar estos personajes a mi propia manera. No es un ranking o una selección, simplemente dibujaré los personajes que me apetezca porque molan, o porque tengo algún vínculo con ellos (para bien o para mal).
The theme of this year will be an “age” instead an “author” like the previous years (Kirby, Ditko).
The common subject will be the glorious age of the 90S IN THE US MAINSTREAM COMIC-BOOKS. Welcome to an age of impossible anatomies, big guns, bad-ass attitudes... The grim & gritty… An extreme age.
Maybe it sounds silly but it was an important time to me because I returned to US comic-books just then, after years reading only manga, thanks to the Image comics, the Xmen animation series and Joe Madureira art. Surely it wasn´t the best time for a newcomer… But we can find interesting things there and I will try to re-imagine these characters with my own style. It´s not a ranking or a selection, simply I´ll draw the characters I want because I think they are cool, or because I have some special link with them (for good or for bad).
